Dear Michael,
Four or more years ago, I sent a letter to you, when I was at the very lowest point of my entire life. At that time, I was deeply depressed, extremely frustrated and at my wits end...as a result of long-term unemployment, and my inability to dig my way out of the rut I'd got myself into. I'd lost hope...and I was bitter, resentful and angry....as well as sadder than at any other time in my life. I was a broken man.
In response to my emotive letter, you were moved enough and compassionate enough to offer me free of charge, other material to help me. I deeply appreciated the fact that you genuinely cared about me and my plight, and made such a generous gesture. Your compassion and the fact that you genuinely did care about me and wanted to help me up, meant more than any material thing. You have me some respite from the negativity and gloom, and gave me reason to lift my head up and try harder.
All these years later, I'm writing to thank you from the bottom of my heart...for changing my life. An idea outlined in your book ("Surfing your horizons"), completely changed my life and its direction. The idea I speak of is: "If you can't find or get the job
you want...create it." That single concept inspired
me to think outside the square (that I'd been focusing on and continually failing at), and pursue other possibilities. Doing so...has allowed me to create EXACTLY the type of job for myself, that I've always wanted. Namely, one combining my expertise, experience and extremely strong passion for each of these fields

Anyway Michael...I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, for providing me with an idea, that has seen me drag myself out of the depths of despair, and completely transform my life and future prospects. Your idea has allowed me to create for myself the opportunity to make myself richer, happier and more fulfilled than I ever dared dream was possible. For that...I will be eternally grateful to you, Michael. You inspired me...and in my life, you have made a world of difference.
